Christian Organizations Work Together to Organize International Day of the Bible

A large group of churches have come together to create a yearly “International Day of the Bible” on November 23.

Spokesperson for the National Bible Association, Elise Inman, said the day will consist of “physical events taking place at multiple locations”. The observance of the day is sponsored by the Bible Gateway, Bibles for the world, National Bible Association, YouVersion, Scripture Union,  and American Bible Society.

Inman stated “we believe that setting aside a day to honor God’s word gives Christians a chance to show solidarity despite differing backgrounds, denominations, and political beliefs…International Day of the Bible is truly meant to be a time where Christians set their differences aside and unite to honor the Bible”.

Not only will there be events taking place on the day itself in Philadelphia, New York, and Nashville there will also be activities on the days leading up to the observance. People from all across the world are expected to  read a passage from the Bible at 12:00 PM at their location.
