50 year-old Kingston, Jamaica native Ann-Marie Campbell recently got a job increase. As the executive-president of Home Depot stores in the United States she oversees 400,000 employees in 2,000 stores. She replaced veteran exec Marc Powers in mid-January.

Campbell, 50, was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and graduated with a degree in philosophy and an MBA from Georgia State University. She began her career with the Atlanta-based company as a cashier while still in college during the ’80s. She recently spoke with the Atlanta Journal Constitution her inspiration comes from her grandmother, who did not finish high school but went on to build a multi-million dollar company!
