Have you ever dealt with someone who was an “expert” in a particular field or function. However, you looked for them to transfer some of that knowledge to you, yet they were unable to properly communicate what was needed. How did you feel? Did you feel frustrated? Did you question your own comprehensive abilities? Did THEY seem frustrated and impatient when it was apparent there was a breakdown in the teaching / learning process?
Don’t fret! Everyone one who’s an expert is not a teacher just as everyone who’s a teacher is not an expert. So it’s NO ONE’S fault. It’s just not a good utilization of skills. Hmm….ok maybe it IS someone’s fault: the person who made the decision to have the expert teach. KYP (know your personnel)

An expert knows all the answers – but only if you ask the right questions.
