Patti LaBelle may be 72 years young, but still knows how to work it.

Not only is the soul icon celebrating the release of her 24th studio album, Bel Hommage, today, she's also celebrating the release of her new hardcover cookbook, Desserts LaBelle: Soulful Sweets to Sing About

LaBelle’s 13-track album marks her first contemporary jazz production, and she couldn’t be more proud. “It sounds more beautiful than I ever imagined,” the R&B legend recently told Variety. “There’s a lot of laughs, joy, and pain in that album.”

While Bel Hommage allows Ms. Patti’s fans to get an intimate look into her life, her cookbook offers fans a chance to learn just how well LaBelle can throw down in the kitchen – especially when it comes to desserts. Anyone that follow’s the singer-turned-culinary-guru knows she’s well-versed in good ol’ fashion sweet potato pies, but now fans will get the chance to indulge in a list of 75 homemade dessert recipes approved by Ms. LaBelle herself.

And did we mention she’s got her own cooking show on the Cooking Channel called Patti LaBelle’s Place?

Go ahead with your bad self, Ms. Patti!
