Black Lives Matter Responds to Recent NRA Ad Encouraging Police Brutality [VIDEO]

Conservative talk radio host and author Dana Loesch released a PSA on behalf of the National Riffle Association, recently, and it seems to encourage violence against Black people. (So if anyone’s still wondering why the NRA hasn’t spoken out in defense of Philando Castile, the answer is clear: they don’t support Black people.)
Loesch opens the ad by saying, "They use their media to assasinate real news. They use their schools to teach children that their president is another Hitler. They use their movie stars and singers and comedy shows and awards shows to repeat their narrative over and over again.”
But the narrative she’s referring to isn’t one that Black people have created or made up to exist in their own reality, it’s a fact-driven, perpetual violent cycle of police brutality that denigrates the Black man until death.
Dana Loesch continues, saying, “And then they use their ex-president to endorse the resistance - all to make them march, to make them protest, to make them scream racism and sexism and xenophobia and homophobia to smash windows, burn cars shut down interstates and airports…until the only option left is for police to do their jobs and stop the madness.”
In other words, the Black man's narrative creates such madness that police have no other choice but to gun them down on sight to ensure their safety and the safety of those (non-Black) people around them.
Thankfully, the Black Lives Matter Los Angeles chapter wasn’t going to let Dana Loesch or the NRA release such a statement without releasing one of their own.
BLM Los Angeles member Funmilola Fagbamila starts their PSA like this: “They use their guns to assassinate Black people. They use their schools to funnel Black students through a school to prison pipeline. They use their state institutions, bought politicians, business conglomerates, and white supremacist domestic terrorists to insight violence over and over again.”
The message, which models the NRA’s original clip, continues by naming those Black men and women who have lost their lives to the hands of a racist police force, then says, “The only option left is to disrupt the systems that keep us oppressed and build the kinds of communities in which we want to live. And when that happens, they’ll use it as an excuse to kill more of us. The only way we stop this, the only way we save our communities and our struggle for freedom is to fight this violence with the raised clenched Black fist of resistance.”
