Tennessee teacher left 5-year-old student in closet for over an hour and left school: reports

A Tennessee kindergarten teacher has been suspended while officials investigate allegations she locked a 5-year-old student in a classroom closet and left school.

Kristin Ohsfeldt, a teacher at A.B. Hill Elementary School in Memphis, reportedly punished Akeelah Joseph by locking her in the closet Tuesday, according to WREG.

Ohsfeldt then reportedly left the school — and Akeelah remained in the closet for more than an hour until a substitute teacher discovered her.
