14-year-old stabbed to death outside his Bronx middle school

An ongoing dispute between a pair of 14-year-old boys ended with a stabbing outside a Bronx school Wednesday that left one dead and the other in handcuffs, charged with murder.

What drove eighth-grader Noel Estevez to allegedly jam a kitchen knife into schoolmate Timothy Crump wasn’t immediately clear.

Estevez attacked the other boy because Crump beat him and robbed him a few weeks ago, police sources said. But others said Crump bullied Estevez — who was mentally ill — and teased him about his mother’s recent arrest before the stabber finally snapped about 3 p.m. near Intermediate School 117 as classes let out.

“They killed my son!” Crump’s mom hollered after cops told her about the bloody crime, according to a neighbor. “They killed my son!”

Estevez — who was Facebook friends with the teen slain on Morris Ave. — now faces murder and manslaughter charges, authorities said. He’s being charged as an adult, police sources said.

The teen, clad in jeans and a blue shirt, was on the verge of tears but said nothing early Thursday as detectives escorted him out of the 46th Precinct stationhouse.

“We are devastated to lose one of our children like this,” said schools Chancellor Carmen Fariña. Grief counselors will be sent to I.S. 117 on Thursday, she said.

Estevez’s neighbors described Crump as a bully who mercilessly beat and taunted the fragile teen.

“Timothy is one of the kids that is constantly bullying Noel,” said Estevez’s neighbor Stephany Arroyo, 23. “(He would say) things like, ‘Ha ha, your mom’s a crackhead, you’re stuttering, you don’t got no food stamps, you’re mom’s locked up.’ ”

Estevez’s mother was arrested on drug charges last week, Arroyo said, adding Crump and his friends “found that funny.” NR

“They killed my son!” Crump’s mom hollered after cops told her about the bloody crime, according to a neighbor.

Crump and his crew would also go to Estevez’s Morris Heights home and threaten him, Arroyo claimed.
