New York City class sizes average 25 children after growing for six years

City class sizes have increased for the sixth year in a row, new stats from the city Education Department show.

Classes from kindergarten through third grade now have nearly 25 kids on average — more than any year since 1998, an analysis of the data shows.

That’s up four kids in just six years for general education, gifted and team-taught classes combined.
