NYMRAD and The International Radio and Television Society (IRTS) held its annual Multicultural Career Workshop on Friday, October 13th. The event draws approximately 130 outstanding students and recent graduates who are pursuing careers in the broadcast industry. Find out more here.
Softball Charity Game: The HOT 97, WBLS and WLIB family attended a charity softball game at Castle Hill little league in the Bronx. To learn more, check here!
Radio-thon in support of St. Jude Children’s Hospital (March): Since 2007, WLIB has hosted an annual radio-thon to raise money for St. Jude Chirldren's Hospital. All collections go directly to St. Jude’s to support their mission to advance cures and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases, through research and treatment. Kutz for Kids Babershop & Beauty Tour (August/September): During the back to school season, Emmis New York partners with local barbershops and salons in the New York tri-state area to provide free haircuts for children ages 13 and under. For more information, click here.
The Spread the Warmth Coat Drive (November/December): One of New York City’s largest and most cherished philanthropic traditions, the Spread the Warmth Coat Drive collects coats to be given out to homeless men, women, children and infants, the working poor, and at-risk senior citizens from partnering nonprofit agencies. Spread the Joy Holiday Toy Drive (November/December): Each year, WLIB teams up with an organization to collect new toys to be given out to children during the holiday season. For more information & photos, click here.
