Miami Police Union Call for Security Boycott of Beyoncé 'Formation' Tour
Police officer's refuse to "get in formation" after Beyonce's latest Big Game performance. Beyoncé received backlash for paying tribute to the Black Panthers during her set. The star performed Formation and released the song and video one day prior to the performance. Police took offense to the performance and found it disrespectful.
Police in Tampa have not signed up for her concert,at Raymond James Stadium on April 29th, for The Formation World Tour. “The fact that Beyoncé used this year’s Super Bowl to divide Americans by promoting the Black Panthers and her antipolice message shows she does not support law enforcement," said Javier Ortiz, president of the Miami FOP. "We ask all law enforcement labor organizations to join our boycott across country and to boycott all of her concerts.”
The Black Panthers wanted to protect their community from police brutality. By Beyoncé representing that in her performance, the police take it offensively.
