What goes around comes back around
You reap what you sow
An eye for an eye
Why are some of the most memorable sayings about getting back at someone?
To err is human, to forgive divine
Turn the other cheek
Forgive and forget
What about these sayings regarding forgiveness?
Why is it easier to harbor resentment and seek revenge than it is to forgive? Is it because it takes MORE energy to forgive? I mean think about it. To TRULY forgive, you have to dig deep into your inner self, while often accepting responsibility for your own role in the situation; whereas, to hold that grudge, to seek that revenge, to place that blame, YOU are in the clear of fault (at least in your mind).
It's funny (ironic) that we often wear bracelets or display bumper stickers saying "WWJD". Hmm....they even come in various colors. Are we simply making a fashion statement or a spiritual one?
Here is today's thought:
“An eye for an eye will only make the whole world blind.”
