Last evening had an nice talk with my youngest son, discussing the upcoming Walk-Jog-Bike-a-thon for Sickle Cell Disease. As much as he and his brother HATE when I say it, I reminded him that I won't be around forever. However, my vision is that the Keepers of the Flame WILL be around forever.
You see, this is not a game. This is not a club. This is not a fad. This is, in fact, a legacy....our legacy. This is our purpose....
Everyone's life has a purpose. Some may affect millions, while some may affect one or two. But it's not about how many you affect, but more like how much.
But here's the kicker: when you give of yourself, you also benefit. You grow. You shine. You fulfill God's purpose for YOU. The Keepers of the Flame and the Sickle Cell Disease Association of Illinois are not better because of me; I've become a better man because of them! My purpose has become my profit.
What's your purpose? What's your worth?
Here is today's thought:
“A wind that blows aimlessly is no good to anyone.”
